Yes. My doctor has prescribed both xanax and Oxycontin to me in the past. The xanax is used for anxiety and stress relief while the Oxycontin is used for pain relief. They are very powerful drugs and should be used carefully when combined. If too much of either drug is ingested at the same time it can cause serious breating problems and people have died from being so relaxed that they stopped breathing. Each drug intensifies the other drug's affect. Please follow your doctor's instructions very carefully.
