fuel filter is located in aplastic housing at the front of the engine. open the drain screw on the front of the filter housing and allow the fuel to drain completely. disconnect the fuel lines from the top of the fuel filter housing by releasing the quick-release fittings using a small screwdriver. move them to one side, covering the ends of the fuel lines to prevent dirt entry. unscrew the top of the filter and lift the filter from the housing. refitting is reversal of removal.
the fuel PUMP (low pressure) is under the back right-hand seat and is replaceable by the careful amateur. As always surgical cleanliness should be adopted. Electrical connectors and fuel hose quick-release clips are relatively easy, but the fixing ring needs to be driven in and out gently and carefully - unless you have or make a suitable tool. My pump suffered an intermittent (not initially diagnosed) failure, and a few weeks later a total failure
