Why aren't baby turtles sold in pet stores anymore?

They're not as popular a 'pet' as they use to be. Additionally - they don't stay little for long - some species can grow larger than a dinner plate ! They can also become very aggressive - leading to people having to find new homes for them (or sometimes simply releasing them into the wild with disastrous consequences !)
