Where is the thermostat on a 2001 Chevy 1500 2wd 4.8 ltr?

Follow your top radiator hose into the intake manifold. The radiator hose connects directly into the thermostat housing. Take the bolt out of the left (drivers side)side of the housing and then take the nut off from the right (passenger side)side of the housing this will expose your thermostat. Be sure to replace the gasket when you replace the thermostat.
