Why did Demi Lovato stop singing for a while?

Around Thanksgiving of 2010, Demi left the Jonas brothers' tour to enter rehab for emotional and physical issues. Demi suffered from depression, leading to suicidal thoughts and then self- mutilation, and bulimia. Many believed she also entered rehab right after she punched a back-up dancer. Allegedly because the dancer was informing tour managers of Demi's ill behavior. Demi has also been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. However, Demi has gotten the help she needed and decided to focus on her music. She has also started a campaign called, "Love is Louder than the Pressure to Be Perfect"
