How often do dogs reproduce?

You want to wait a period of time for the mother to heal, if you don't you will damage them forever!! My dog was a breeder dog, she put out so many litters back to back, that when I had her spayed three weeks ago they removed a whold pound of inards. She took this whole time to heal. It was bad. The best thing to do is after the litter is old enough to be weaned, between 6 to 8 weeks after birth, is take your dog to the vet for a check up and see if she has healed enough to be bred again. I believe the time frame is about 2 to 3 heat cycles after the each litter. But your vet will be able to help determine that. Hope this helps.
