Timidity or timidness, is a general quality of fearfulness. A mouse would be described as a timid creature. Also means easy fear. It can apply to social situations in which a timid person is one who is unwilling to speak up, who tries to fade into the background, who is afraid of encountering new or unusual situations or people.
