Who and when invented the first windshield repair system?

The first windshield repair system was invented and patented in 1972 by Dr. Frank Werner, a prodigious inventor who owned and operated Origin, Inc., his own research and development company.

In 1972, while vacationing with his family in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Dr. Werner broke his windshield and thus identified the need to repair windshields rather than replace them. Having recently formed his own research and development company, Origin, Inc., Dr. Werner assembled a team to find an alternative to windshield replacement.

Dr. Werner partnered with Mr. Gerald E. Keinath to develop, manufacture, and market the windshield repair process which Mr. Keinath trademarked as "NOVUS Windshield Repair".
