Remove seat and plastic cover on top of battery which is located right behind the fuel tank. The CDI or electronic ignition is under and attached to this cover. Lay this aside. Now, you can remove the postive and negative cables to the battery terminals with a screwdriver. Remove the negative (black) cable first, then the red (positive) cable. Remove rubber strap holding battery in place. Pull battery out of its case. Installation is the reverse of removal except then you begin with connecting the positive (red) battery cable.
