People skills. The power of networking trumps all others, even education. It's always 'who you know' over what you know. Consider what job your in now - how did you acquire such? Did a friend/family member tell you of such? The clear majority of job openings are never posted. The ability to interact with like minded professionals will go along way. Once you are in the position, maintaining a positive reputation to perform tasks on a timely matter. Take risks when they have a 'more than likely' favorable outcome, or a minor negative if failed. Work at any given profession for a min. of 2 years - but after 2 start looking for 'greener pastures'
