They dont really regulate but a greenhouse has glass panels that allows light to penetrate it and enter the greenhouse along with heat. Some of these can be opened and shut to regulate the heat. The heatwaves then cannot leave as they bounce back of the inside of the glass panels and remain inside the greenhouse,this increases temperature to optimum or closer to optimum for the plant. In regards to co2 sometimes a small fire is lit in the centre of the greenhouse or a emmiter is used again to prevent it becoming a limiting factor and help get closer to optimum allowing maximum growth of the plant.
