What was Abraham Maslow attempting to accomplish when creating his Hierarchy of Needs?

Abraham Maslow was a social psychologist and in his paper presented in 1942 on the role of human motivation with emphasis on human relationship in society that enables one to recognize ones value as a human being with a sense of belonging with the society to fulfill the financial,emotional and social needs as a goal oriented process through his physiological needs,security needs,social needs,esteem needs and self actualisation needsto be what one is capable of becoming with the optimum development of ones potential which are interrelated in order of priority of the needs.
