The Pteradactylus (pronounced tare a DACT il) was a genus of small pterosaurs that ate fish and other small prey. Their fossils have been found in Africa and Europe, and are about 150 million years old.

The term "pteradactyl" is often used as a synonym of pterosaur. Pterosaurs are an extinct order flying reptiles whose fossils have been found on every continent except Antarctica.
