Basically a large black beetle with two long antennas that can be more than an inch long. The bodies of the beetles are generally about an inch long as well. They use their long antennas to navigate and detect things. Found in northern Ontario, Canada, and likely other parts of the Boreal forest, because of the spruce trees. Stick to you pretty easily, so once they land on you they are tricky to get off. Many people say they bite, but i've never personally experienced a spruce bug bite. Nonetheless, they are the main reason I am scared to go outside in the summer time. They look scarier than they actually are though.
