Advantages of newspaper

I have discovered that the newspaper I have subscribed to provides me with a wealth of advantages for keeping up on current affairs; while others:

1. have helped me in my genealogical searches for family (an old 1934 archived item told me of my father's military achievement of advancing to officer status from enlisted graven disclosed the location of the Armored Officer Candidate School from which he graduated and the date of that accomplishment. Since all of his military records were destroyed in the 1970's fire at the National Archives, this was especially helpful information;

2. have alerted me to upcoming events in sports, community activities (concerts, parades, etc.), and politics (gives one an edge when considering the total candidate for whom I aim to vote);

3. provide a forum for speaking out on issues for which I may voice my opinion and observe the opinions of others on practically any subject that I find important for my (and my family's) future well-being....thus giving me an insight into the community at large (the pulse of the nation even);

4. gives me instant entertainment (the crossWord puzzles which help me fill in some pretty lonely, or even a distraction during stress; the comics add a flavor to be found nowhere else; and last but not least

5. provides me information as to where I may receive help from many different agencies or where I may offer my own services for community or personal applications.

All of these (and more) give me a feeling of being in closer connectivity with the human racer's in the privacy of my own home if I choose. The fact is there is no better resource in the world for instant access to such a wide variety of items; not even the internet is as readily accessible or easily understood as the NEWSPAPER.patti!!!!
