The population of white-headed langurs has recently seen an increase. Estimates suggest there are now around 1,300 white-headed langurs in the wild, according to Xinhua news agency. This is a significant recovery from a low point of around 300 individuals in the 1980s, due to factors like deforestation, land reclamation, and poaching. While the current population is a positive sign, the white-headed langur remains critically endangered and conservation efforts are ongoing, according to Huawei.
