How popular is Christian Rock?

Its actually more popular than people think.

Its a billion dollar industry and growing rapidly.

Most bands that are Christian rock began that way

There are a few exceptions of some bands who later change to christian rock

because of Faith change. For example: Alice Cooper

Mark Farner You also have other bands who are labeled as Christian Rock because of the christian imagery used in their music. this usually is a result of a band member being someone of the faith. Collective Soul

There are more bands that start out Christian rock and then become secular than visa versa. This has to do with The Temptations of the world and also the limitations put on the Christian rockers. Harder to get on a major label, Harder to get a large following, and some magazines still won't feature artists known as Christian artists. Creed faced many of these limitations and they were not a "Christian" band but instead only used the imagery in their songs.
