Is it ok to take an antiinflamortory med before having a surgery procedure?

Normally yes, so long as it's at least an hour before your surgical procedure. However you do need to inform medical staff of exactly what medication you're on before your surgery (including over-the-counter meds and supplements) - that way there's no risk of accidental overdose.
