Is clover a weed

Traditionally the turf industry and the various institutes who conduct scientific studies related to turf regard white clover as a weed and are more concerned with getting rid of clover than with establishing it. Attitudes are rapidly changing. While there is still a general scarcity of scientific information related to establishing and maintaining clover in lawns, it is a good ground cover. There is, however, a great deal of literature on the Biology and ecological benefits of white clover in pastures and fields.
