Dormice are primarily found in Europe, particularly in countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy. They inhabit woodlands, hedgerows, and other areas with dense vegetation. The most well-known species, the common dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius), is particularly associated with hazel trees and is found in various habitats across these regions. In addition, some species can also be found in parts of Asia and North Africa.
