What would make chainsaw runs wide open no matter the throttle position what would be wrong?

It could be a stuck throttle shutter inside the carburetor. Or, some kind of air leak into the motor. The nature of the air leak would depend on the make and model of the saw. Could also be caused by a damaged, or improperly adjusted carburetor.
