What does the quote 'The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one' mean?

The quote is credited to American author Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915).

I believe what he meant by the saying is that if you do nothing in your life because you are afraid of making a mistake, then you will find your life wasted and nothing done. Hubbard seems to be saying that in his opinion, there would be no greater mistake than a wasted life.
