How do you convert a 202148 Shermag crib to a toddler bed?

Hello, We too have the 5542-0521 model Bassett convertible baby crib and changing it to a double bed was a snap. There is a special bed frame that must be purchased that can be attached to both a head board and foot board. They are available at most bed or furniture stores and should cost less than $50.00. Remember that a typical bed frame will have bolt attachments for a head board but the length of the frame is much shorter, by about a foot, to allow the foot portion of the bed to hang off the frame. What you'll need is one that runs the length of the double bed and will have bolt connections for both ends. Hope this helps. Jeff H. Williamsburg, VA
