Is Uglies by Scott Westerfeld a science fiction book?

Yes. So is a similar book, Feed by M. T. Anderson. Other good choices is The Giver by Lois Lowry, and 1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell. These are similar types of books in which society becomes sort of brainwashed. I read too much for my own good! XD
