In 'Coming to America' how much were the earrings that Akim gave to Lisa McDowell?

In the movie they are said to cost $500,000, but they are most likely costume jewelry and go for a few hundred. However; sometimes very expensive props are used for shock or advertisement value. No ever having heard anything special about them in the half a dozen times I have seen the movie, I am assuming my first guess is the more correct. If I find anything to the contrary, I will post a correction.
