Why does the Nintendo 3DS have a short battery life?

All of these features/things cause the 3DS battery to drain quicker than a DSi's: -The top screen is capable of displaying autostereoscopic 3D using a parallax barrier.

-The sound quality is improved.

-The lighting for the 3DS is much brighter.

-There is a lot more features packed into the 3DS.
