If you are using the American English definition of "veterinary surgeon" (veterinarian who is board certified in surgery), the employers are somewhat limited to specialty hospitals, self-employed at your own clinic, teaching institutions and a handful of other options. If you are using the British English definition of "veterinary surgeon" (general veterinarian, no specialty), there is a broader range of potential employers - any private or public practice, the government, academia, industry, etc.
