Why can't superheroes be a real thing?

Superheroes as portrayed in fiction have abilities that defy the laws of physics and logic. Such powers are not possible in the real world because they go against our current understanding of science and Biology. Additionally, the consequences of real individuals possessing such abilities would likely have significant social, cultural, and ethical implications.
