Im 15 and a half weeks pregnant on my sonographm film the tech advised that the baby did not appear to have all 4 heart chambers what does this mean?

Hello. At 15 weeks, structures in the heart are still difficult to visualise. It may be that the baby and organs are just too small for the technician to see clearly and a repeat scan in 2-3 weeks will give a clearer indication. It is true that if there were less then 4 heart chambers that there would be a major heart defect in the baby but there is still hope that all 4 chambers will be visualised later. Many heart defects are repairable with surgery, including major defects. Unfortunately not all pregnacies such as this end so well. I wish you all the best and my prayers are with you.
