How is shopster using information to improve customer service?

Well i'd say they would gather the information on the users actions on the site, for example a user purchases a radio controlled toy and with that they will post recommendations on numerous radio controlled toys similar to the one he wishes to purchase, with this the user would be more knowledgeable on the availability of these products. Also you can refer to your notes, don't forget to pass up the assignment this Tuesday
