What was the triangular tade?

The triangular trade was a transatlantic trading system that operated from the late 16th to the early 19th centuries, connecting Europe, Africa, and the Americas. European ships would carry manufactured goods to Africa, where they were exchanged for enslaved people. These enslaved individuals were then transported to the Americas, primarily to work on plantations, where raw materials like sugar, tobacco, and cotton were produced. The raw materials were subsequently shipped back to Europe, completing the triangular route.
