What to do if a wild dog is about to attack?

Never approach a stray dogs with bare arms or legs. You need to be covered for extra protection in case of attack. Also, wear gloves and have a towel or sheet to hold infront of you when approaching. This also allows you greater ease to wrap the dog in the sheet/towel when you reach it. By wrapping the dog gently you are both providing a sense of safety and warmth aswell as protecting yourself from potential attacks. Do not cover the dogs eyes as this will spook it and can cause the dog to attack out of fear. Finally, before approaching the dog, check for any visable signs of broken bones (limping/holding a paw off the ground), or wounds (bitemarks/bleeding). Be sure to be cautious of these when lifting the dog as to not touch them or hurt the dog further.
