Great question. While it is possible for a woman or women to be "Antichrist", as The Bible speaks of individuals or groups of people (not just men) who oppose God and His purpose as being just that ( Dan. 7:25; 8:10,13; 11:40, Dan. 7:7-28, 1 John 2:18,22; 4:3, 2 John 7) The Antichrist, as it relates to the end times, will be a man. Dispensationalist look for a future Roman ruler who will appear during the Tribulation and rule over the earth. Amillennialists interpret the term symbolically. In Revelation, the Roman Caesar is the evil force. The Antichrist will be male as Revelation 13:18 says " Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man: and his number is six hundred three score and six."

Answer:

Nowhere in the Bible does it speak of "THE Antichrist." The Bible says that there are MANY of them:

"...as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there MANY ANTICHRISTS..." (I John 2:18).

The Bible warns of "two men" who shall work in conjunction with each other in ruling the world during the soon-coming most distressful period in world history that Jesus calls "Great Tribulation" [Matt.24:21].

Who shall bring all life on earth to the brink of cessation [see verse 22].

These two men, the Bible calls the "Beast" and the "False Prophet"... not, "THE Antichrist." [see Rev.19:20, where they are destroy upon Jesus' return]

"THE Antichrist" is an invention of men through their ignorance of the scriptures.

Many antichrists, according to John, were around when John wrote his letter. These are folks who "deny the Father and the Son" [please note: John does NOT say: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit].

Antichrist is a SPIRIT... a prevailing ATTITUDE in the world regarding Jesus Christ and the laws of God. It's a spirit "anti" [or AGAINST] Christ. A rebellious spirit that's been around since Adam and Eve chose Satan as their god in the beginning.

Many, many, many people in the world, blinded by the god of this world... possess that "attitude" against Jesus Christ and God's Truth.

And some of these people are "WOMEN." So, women, too, can be among the "many antichrists" in the world... but there is no "THE Antichrist," male or female.

Additional Comment:

The simple answer is NO.

There have been in the past-and are now-manyAntichrists! And underlying all of their deceptions is the "spirit of Antichrist"-the wrong approaches and false doctrines which have blinded billions of human beings from understanding God's Truth. The "doctrine" of Antichrist is not understood by most of the world's religious leaders.

The Word "Antichrist" is first introduced in 1 John 2:18. "The Antichrist" about whom they had heard is the "lawless one"Paul wrote about and the "false prophet" of Revelation. Yet some mistakenly identify the Antichrist as the coming world dictator and political system called the "Beast" in Bible prophecy. They forget that the real "power behind the throne" is the mysterious "harlot" of Revelation 17, and that this fallen woman "rides" or controls the Beast of Revelation.

The Bible interprets the term woman in Rev. 17 as a church here who has entered into adulterous alliances with the leaders and kings of this world (v. 2), and the inhabitants of the earth are made spiritually "drunk" because of her false teachings. She is a "mother" church-giving birth to spiritual "harlots" (v. 5). And, as indicated, she deals in "mysteries," as did the ancient pagan religions before her (Begun in 1st great Apostasy of Cush, Nimrod, Seriramis). This church is the great religious power spoken of in Daniel 7 (little horn).

The political leader of the Beast power teams up with this religious power under the direction of the dragon (Satan) and causes World War III. It should be clear that the term "Antichrist" does not apply solely to the false prophet-though he will certainly be the leading spokesman teaching the doctrines of Antichrist. Rather, as most modern scholars acknowledge, "Antichrist" simply means a spirit or person in opposition to Christ.
