Pros and cons of lip piercings?

I've had two bottom lip piercings so far- I only have one right now because the other one got really infected after I had it done so I just took it out and let it close up...

The one I have now though I've had for almost 4 years and it's been perfect :) It's become one of my defining characteristics, lol.

Anyway over the past 4 years I haven't really had any problems with it, it healed up really nicely a couple weeks after I got it. The only thing I used to have trouble with in the first few months was my tendency to accidentally "crunch" down on the ring O.o luckily I didn't chip any teeth though! It was also awkward learning to eat with it at first from what I can remember, for the same reason.

Other than that, seriously I love it. After I had it for about a year I was ready to get rid of it- I got bored, plus I got a job that was super conservative -_- bleh! But something made me change my mind last minute and I found ways around the rules at work where it made it possible to keep my piercing (ex: clear retainers, wearing a band-aid over it)

SOOO, now I'm about to celebrate my 4th anniversary with the thing, lol and I plan on keeping it as long as possible.
I'm 21 and married and have convinced several employers to let me keep my piercing and still hire me, and now even my grandmother is cool with it!

It's all-around a very manageable piercing in my opinion- and very fun to kiss from what I've been told...lol
