Old time coaches from the "wild west" (circa 1800's and before) often held 4-6 people. The average coach consisted of two rows facing one another on each end of the interior, that varied in size and length. Counting the driver and passenger on the outside of the coach, which always sat 2, you could have anywhere from 6-8 people combining on and in the coach seats. But the interior by itself was around 4-6. Such smaller and larger sized coaches existed, but very rarely.
