Wolf females typically go into heat, or estrus, once a year, usually during late winter to early spring. The heat cycle lasts about 7 to 10 days, during which they are receptive to mating. This annual cycle is influenced by environmental factors and the social structure of the pack. After mating, the female will give birth to a litter of pups approximately 63 days later.
