What is the employee dress code at Barnes and Noble?

For men it is khakis, slacks, collared shirts tucked in. Women it is slacks, sweaters, skirts with hose or socks. Collared shirts but also must be tucked in. NO t-shirts, nothing with logos, pictures, or writing. NO tennis shoes or open toed shoes, no crocs.

For cafe it is plain black pants, plain solid black or white top with collar, and tucked in. No tennis shoes, open toed shoes or crocs here either.

For receiving where the employee has to get books in off the truck in big heavy dirty, greasy boxes and take out the garbage, you still have to wear like new jeans, nice collared shirts tucked in.

I know this because I have the MISFORTUNE of working at Barnes and Noble where a lot of your money is spent just trying to meet the standards that my store has set. Doesn't matter that you spend all day running around cleaning up garbage and crap in the bathrooms, you still have to look nice doing it. Because you know all the people leaving the garbage and crap everywhere want to see you dressed up real nice. And of course it is RETAIL so we must look our best.
