You eat because you're bored. Your question had the answer right in it. Listen to your body; if you feel hungry, eat something, of course, preferably healthy. Drink water before/with every meal. Keep water by your side and sip it instead of continuous snacking; most of the time "hunger" isn't realy hunger; i'ts thirst-- so drink water! If you feel hungry after a cup or two of water, then grab a small snack with fiber/protein to satisfy you until your next real meal.
