How do you grow impatients?

Impatiens are rather delicate but pretty flowers and very popular for outdoor landscaping. They are sensitive to excessive drying, so be sure to check regularly for water needs, especially when weather has been hot or dry. Impatiens prefer shady or somewhat protected areas...which help to keep them from drying too quickly. But, they may be grown in bright light if watered regularly. Pinch off blown blooms to encourage more flowers. They're annuals in most parts of the country, so plan to plant them each year.
