What is the difference between Linear A and Linear B?

Linear A and Linear B are both ancient scripts used in Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations, respectively. Linear A, primarily used by the Minoans from around 1800 to 1450 BCE, remains largely undeciphered and is thought to represent a language isolate. In contrast, Linear B, used by the Mycenaeans from approximately 1450 to 1200 BCE, has been deciphered and is known to represent an early form of Greek. The two scripts differ in their symbols, purposes, and the languages they encode.
