What does the am and pm stand for on a twelve hour clock?

AM stands for Anti Meridian and PM stands for Post Meridian. They are Spanish Words.

Is the above response typical of the comments found on these blogs? I think it is.

And I am quite certain the terms are in the Latin vernacular.
