a roundworm infection/infestation is not uncommon in the domestic dog or cat, especislly those under a year old. roundworm infections are treatable and more often than not patients respond well to treatment and make a full recovery within a few weeks. roundworm larvae(eggs) can be found in muscles around the eyes of those suffering from infestation. if your pet is currently being treated for roundworms there are a few things you need to do to ensure that the treatment is working. -take into consideration how long your dog has been receiving treatment. if it has only been a few days, give it a little more time to take effect. - but, if your vet did not see the worms in your dogs eyes during your last visit you should call and let them know right away. roundworms, if left untreated, can cause blindness and even brain damage. be sure to keep a close eye on your little friend until they have made a full recovery.
