Do you have to remove the cyl head to Replace Valve Lifters on Kia Sportage?

i would recommend it just so you can see what the valves look like, i would hate for you to do it the other way just to find out later one of the valves is chipped or valve stem severely worn due to a very worn timing belt in the past.But its your call.
