Water Bottle Numbers in the recycle sign should not be used?

I just researched this myself and numbers 1, 3 and 7 should not be used. #1 is the bottled water you buy and you should not refill and use again. The type of plastic used to make numbers 3 and 7 leach into the drinking water. However, numbers 2, 4 and 5 are supposed to be safe. Experts recommend using stainless steel containers.
