How do you change the flint in a Dupont lighter?

1: flip open 2: turn to right; or clockwise; flip top should be opened mouth to right lower hinge to left;3: look and search above the line of flip top; you will see round stem; half way; up; using thumb nail; or such press it down; same time pull back; top where grooves are; back; toward left; you will see empty trough;

that's where flit goes in; you can insert vertically to round slot; clean off dusts will help; use facial tissue; place it vertically then tilt it to right; using pen or such; then pull back top; from left to right; you should hear click as pressed down stem locks into place;

if you need to really clean; get lighter fluid; or such cleaning fluids; empty out all the butane by pressing down; the intake valve; do it repeatedly till such time you don't hear sound;

then wet down on facial tissue and wipe it down;

the flint lighter comes off; if you put it wrong; it wont spark; just rotate it; put it backward; then it works;

you can use any butane; no need to buy dupont butane; just need to have right fitting; colibri butane works; as well as hobby shop; supplied generic butane works as well;

burns the same; just needs right fitting; so buy one with multiple heads and cut to fit the size;

stopped buying them; used to be able to get it for dollar; or 1.50; at most 2.00 it got very expensive; so stopped buying them; now its $6.00 per cartridge; too expensive for my pocket;

if i do; i'd use it for show off; on date or such; short of that?; using 13oz $2.49 butane;

i just need to keep buying flint;

other flints don't work; dupont flints are narrower; so unless you want to spend time shaving it;

one Word of caution; don't over fill it; press down to fill once or twice; for 2 seconds each;

seem to have multiple chambers; so it will reach equilibrium;
