How long does it take for your normal voice to return after having a tracheotomy tube removed?

My husband had his treac out since april 3-4 of 2012 it is now july 13 2012 and his voice is 95% back. It may have taken a little longer cause he suffered from tbi. Tranatic brain injury. He to me is doing wonderful walks, alittle off balance at times but dresses, feeds, and eats independently an more. We were told he was not even expected to live. He was assulted feb1 2012 and like i said its they beginning of july. We are still waiting for all his therophy to begin cause they are so booked, so I started my own at home I know they will be amazed when we do begin. He is on no meds he says it fogges his head worse. I'm truely proud of his will to lice and his trust in me. Don't ever give up the mind is so strong an be his cheerleader an his pain in the butt and goid things will happen. And the power of prayer has alot to do with it, thats a fact!!!!!!! Marie&mark B
