Who is Smithers on The Simpsons?

Waylon Smithers Jr. is Mr. Burns' "yes-man" on The Simpsons. He's in his forties and has the largest Malibu Stacy (the simpsons version of barbies) in the country. There has been much question about his sexuality, as he has repeatedly been shown being attracted to Mr. Burns.
