On "famous" brands, like the one listed above, the customer is paying (80% of the watch value in most cases) for the brand's marketing and advertising. Value and quality - a Seiko is probably a better choice against a Tissot, Omega or Longines.
Like cars, all watches have weak points. Too expensive for what they are or they "fail" on quality (would that be the movement or else).
Watches "belong" to the fashion industry and, in many cases, this is what attract the customers to them. It is often better to look at the "under dog" brands when one can purchase an Excellent watch at 1/5th of the price offered by a similar "famous" competitor.
