What is a mounted warrior?

A soldier on horses is called a cavalry. This is from a French Word cavaliers and an individual soldier was known by a number of names like cavalrymen, horseman, dragoon, or troopers. In WW2 many cavalry units were converted to mechanized infantry units or tank troops.
