Why is it important to give children time to express themselves in their own words?

Forcing another opinion on them or requiring them to do things they really dislike is cruel. Allowing them time for self-sexpression allows them to communicate what they like and want, as well as prepare them for the world at large through giving them experience at such expression and interpersonal contact.
